Author Biography
Born in France , I was raised as a ” not-so” Military Brat ( my father being strict). Dadwas in the Airforce, stationed in France after begging his commander to transfer him and my mother quickly. My mother was three months pregnant with me, unmarried and the favorite child of an extensive Italian family. Due to circumstances beyond their control, my parents fled the country.
After bearing three children within a span of five years ( not much to do in Euveurex, France), our family moved to Oklahoma. Shortly after my youngest sister was born, our parents divorced. Unknowingly, being packed into a station wagon by my great aunt and uncle, this would be the last time we would see our father. We lived with our maternal grandparents until my mother re-married. The new marriage converged my step fathers two daughters into our family of four. I now had five siblings. One brother ( poor thing, being the only son).
For me, grade school and high school were turbulent years. Being a runaway ” problem child”, at the age of 13, I was sent to live with my great-aunt to attend an all girl private high school. ” Private” defined as twenty-six girls in my graduating class.
The experience of living a lonely life during my high school years catapulted my party days in college. Sex, Drugs and Alcohol were exciting experiences with my first husband ( whom I met in college). After discovering I was pregnant with my first son, the drugs stopped for me, but not the father of my children. We divorced when my third child was a toddler. I married my second husband three years later. The new marriage converged his three pre-school children with mine of the same age.
Twenty- two years of marriage resulted in my second husband dying of Pancreatic Cancer. The experience resulted in my decision to volunteer in Kathmandu for three months. I taught Buddhist Monks the English language.
While sitting under three incredibly huge golden Buddha Shrines, I wrote about my life. The result is ” The Forbidden Fruit”.
Did I mention the book is soon to be available in e-book format and audible on Amazon?
